A message from our Chairman

A Christmas message from our Chairman:

Christmas for me is a time of reflection and spending time with loved ones. Family and friends are life’s most important things and I hope you and yours cherish the times together.

As I mentioned reflection, I will start with some thoughts on the season so far. We are currently sat 3rd in the league five points of the leaders Bishop albeit playing two more games. The run we have been on since the defeat to Bishop has been amazing and I hope we can continue. The management team deserve a lot of credit and I for one have full belief that they will deliver on the seasons goals. We have a young squad that are giving everything to the club and I am proud to have this squad representing our club.

I would also like to mention the reserve and youth teams. The reserves are competing to win their league and hopefully some silverware too, Gareth and his team have integrated into the West family and they are an asset to the club. They support the first team and seeing Kenny Shevels start for the first team is a reflection on the hard work both Gareth and Kenny have put into the season so far.

The juniors as I am sure you are aware are managed by our board member Lee Curtis, ever since I joined the club back in the summer I have been amazed by the passion and love for the junior team that Lee has. Lee would do anything for any of his players and from what I have seen watching them play they would do anything for him too. They are also competing for promotion and silverware.

Now I would like to mention the amazing volunteers, committee members and the board. This club relies on each and everyone of you, whatever the task is you do for the club, from the bottom of my heart thank you.

To the fans, thank you for coming on this journey with us, I know it is not easy, I can tell you that everything we are doing is in the hope/ambition of improving the squad and facilities for you. We have a long way to go and a lot of work to do but your support has been appreciated and we look forward to 2024 with you by our side.

I look forward to seeing you at games in the new year!

Merry Christmas,

Mark Forrest

Chairman
