February 2025 Recap

February 2025 Recap

After three wins and one draw to start the year in January, West had five games scheduled for February, four of those away from home.

Kendal Town 3-3 West Auckland Town [League] – 08/02/2025

A game of two halves. After leading 0-3 at half-time thanks to goals by Jermaine Metz, James Harrison and Oscar Eckley-Aldaworth, Kendal came out in the second half and managed to earn a point out of the game. There was a welcome return for captain Liam Potter, who started his first game for the first teams since rejoining the squad after his injury and recovery.

MOTM: Adam Cameron // Attendance: 415

West Auckland Town 4-1 Guisborough Town [League] – 15/02/2025

A solid display from West ended with a 4-1 victory. A hat-trick from James Harrison and a goal from Leo Robinson gave West a well deserved three points.

MOTM: James Harrison // Attendance: 112

Northallerton Town 0-2 West Auckland Town [Mitre Brooks Mileson Memorial League Cup 3rd Round] – 18/02/2025

Another confident display from West put us into the League Cup Quarter-Finals. An own goal in the first half, followed by Max Storey’s in the second, set us up nicely for Friday night’s away match at Crook Town.

MOTM: Gary Brown // Attendance: 134

Crook Town 2-0 West Auckland Town [League] – 21/02/2025

Two goals in three minutes won it for Crook in what was a good game of football. A competitive first half was followed by a similar second, with Crook taking their chances in front of goal.

MOTM: Liam Potter // Attendance: 310

Newcastle Benfield 2-1 West Auckland Town [League] – 25/02/2025

A third attempt at this fixture was after two previous postponements, the latest being February 11th. In what was a fairly close game, Benfield scored their second goal after 84 minutes, with Jermaine Metz adding a consultation goal in the 92nd minute.

MOTM: Jermaine Metz // Attendance: 92

With 33% of the votes, the Player of the Month for February 2025 is Luke Bailey.

After progressing in the League Cup, West were drawn against Shildon in the Quarter-Finals. The game will take place on Tuesday 18th March, 7:30pm kick-off, and will be played at Shildon’s Dean Street due to ongoing works at the West Auckland Town ground.
